About Christine Lauritsen
Since making a career change from working as an orthopaedic physiotherapist, both in the NHS and privately, I have been helping clients since 2006 in my own psychotherapy and counselling practice.
Having always been interested in psychology and having had many years experience as a Life Coach, and ‘informal’ counsellor, I came across the Human Givens approach. Impressed by the effectiveness of this form of psychotherapy, I trained as a Human Givens Therapist and became a member of the Human Givens Institute in 2004. Since then, I have seen hundreds of individuals more forwards from difficulties in their lives and I have had considerable experience of working with all forms of emotional distress including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, PTSD, addiction, relationship issues and domestic and/or narcissistic abuse.
Also a qualified nutritional therapist, my practice includes nutrition and wellness coaching. I am therefore in a position to help my clients make other lifestyle changes to further support their mental, emotional and physical health.
Having had my own struggles with chronic pain, I became extremely interested in the fascinating and expanding research into the whole mind-body connection and its incredible complexities. Having been an orthopaedic physiotherapist in my early career, some of this new learning was quite challenging for me. Having now completed the Level 3 practitioners’ course with SIRPA, it is my desire to be able to help individuals identify and acknowledge the underlying causes of their chronic pain or other unexplained illness and psychophysiologic disorders.
One of my main goals is to help people understand themselves better and to achieve their maximum potential.
I live in the beautiful highlands of Scotland, and work mainly on-line. Please do get in touch if you feel I can be of help in your current situation and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
