I have worked in the NHS for around 40 years and for the last 20 years have been a clinical specialist in spinal problems working with surgeons and pain consultants. I feel I bridge the gap between orthopaedic medicine and the mind body world. For years I had been confused by the lack of correlation between what I was seeing on MRI scans and the patient’s pain and realized there was far more going on than just structural change. It became clear that emotions were integral to the problem and this was made even clearer when I came across SIRPA and the work of Dr Sarno. I now use the SIRPA approach with patients in chronic pain to great effect and would be happy to work with you.
