Paul's Recovery Journey
After more than a decade of living with Ankylosing Spondylitis and chronic back pain, Paul reached a point where he knew there had to be more to the story than just inflammation and structural findings. Despite years of treatment, his symptoms were inconsistent, unpredictable and increasingly disruptive, eventually affecting his ability to fully enjoy time with his daughter.
His search for answers led him to the work of SIRPA, where he discovered how powerfully the brain, nervous system and emotional stress can influence chronic pain. With the support of a practitioner, he learned to understand his symptoms in a completely new way, reduce fear, and address the deeper stress patterns that were keeping the pain cycle going.
This approach has transformed how he responds to his body and given him practical tools that continue to help him today. His story is one of hope, curiosity and recovery, and shares more about his journey with Georgie Oldfied MCSP, in the recording below.
Paul struggled with chronic and often severe back pain for 9 years which was believed to be due to his diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis. Despite injections every other week, as well as other medication, things did not improve until he came across the work of Dr John Sarno and then SIRPA. In this recording he talks to Georgie Oldfield MCSP about his journey.
